Testimonials

  • “If you’re looking for a unique gift for a pet lover or for yourself, do not hesitate to hire Ellie to create your masterpiece.

I ordered three drawings by Ellie to gift at Christmas 2020.  What started out as a “that’ll be cute” gift idea turned into the most treasured and favorite gifts by the recipients.

Ellie is extremely talented and the likeness she portrayed in the pieces was fantastic.  She used creativity in combining my daughter’s parakeet and bunny into one drawing and our two pups in another.

I also gifted our oldest daughter and her husband a portrait of their dog who recently passed.  It was a pretty emotional surprise and they absolutely love it.”

  • “Ellie is a thriving and talented young artist. Her ability to bring heartfelt life from photo to paper is God-given. Most notable is the attention to the finest details, the eyes of the animal look like windows to the soul. She is able to create the most beautiful and impressive art from a photo or her imagination, a little bit of heaven on earth.”

  • “Ellie was a delight to work with.  Her work captures the heart of the animals in the details of each of her drawings.  Her passion for art and animals is evident in the way she engages with customers with professionalism and clear, timely communication.  I was thrilled to be able to gift her beautiful artwork to a dear friend this Christmas.   Everyone commented on the amazing detail and emotion captured in the piece.  I highly recommend her and look forward to working with her again in the future.”

Ellie's Story

Ellie is a current high school senior. She has been accepted to the Peck School of the Arts at UW Milwaukee. She plans to major in Art Education at UWM and further pursue her artistic passions and share her love of art, teaching, and animals.

In middle school, Ellie knew she wanted to use her love of animals to help others so she decided to volunteer with Leader Dogs for the Blind raising and training two puppies in their first year before heading to formal training with Leader Dogs for the Blind. Then when she got to high school, she volunteered every weekend at the Wisconsin Humane Society as a dog walker.

While continuing to pursue her passion for animals Ellie works as a part-time dog swim coach and retail worker at The Feedbag Pet Supply, a local family-owned pet store.  There, she creates bonds with many pets and their parents. This sparked the inspiration to start drawing her furry clients as subjects for her AP Drawing class portfolio. Once the word got out, people began commissioning Ellie to draw their pets, and EHD Artworks was born.

With a strong passion for drawing and a love for animals, Ellie came across her talent for drawing pet portraits.  Her photorealistic and emotional creations have helped people remember their furry and feathered family members, whether they’ve crossed over the rainbow bridge or are currently begging in the kitchen.
